I would recommend, for example:

Çalıkuşu (the Wren/ The Autobiography of a Turkish Girl) by Reşat Nuri Güntekin
Moby Dick by Herman Melville
The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wild
The Time Traveler’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger

For children:
(I know that you speak Russian, so…)))

- The Adventures of Neznaika (Dunno) and His Friends (Приключения Незнайки и его друзей), Dunno in Sun City (Незнайка в Солнечном городе), Dunno on the Moon (Незнайка на луне) by Nikolai Nosov (Николай Носов)
- Kingdom of Crooked Mirrors (Королевство кривых зеркал) by Vitali Gubarev
- Scarlet Sails (Алые паруса) by Alexander Grin (Александр Грин)
- Amphibian Man (Человек-амфибия) by Alexander Beliaev (Александр Беляев)

I just finished The Road by Cormac McCarthy and LOVED IT. If you like to think about what a post-apocalyptic world might be like, you should definitely read this book.

To broaden your horizon I’d like to share with you a story written by one of my favourite Slovenian authors, Miha Mazzini. It was published in the collection Trenutki spoznanja (Clear moments). I think the Slovene version is slightly better in style, but the message remains the same. It’s the last story in the book and after finishing it I remained seated, staring at the book cover for a long while. You can read it in English on http://www.mihamazzini.com/SimpleStory/story.html . Mazzini also started a video project where people from different countries tell the same story, so I guess this post would also fit our “national identities” discussion in a way. You can find the video collection here http://www.mihamazzini.com/SimpleStory/default.html but I suggest you read the story first.

Really? How did you know? I love reading Nicholas Spark's work. Anyway I'm about to read The last song by Nicholas Sparks. I'm sure you know about "The Notebook" right? Try reading the sequel "The Wedding". It's the novel that made me read all his work. If you want a touch of X-Files, you can try True Believer and the sequel is At First Sight. It was great!

If anyone of you love Vampire stories, you could try Blue Bloods by Melissa Dela Cruz, Vampire Kisses by Ellen Schreiber, and Evermore and Blue Moon by Alyson Noel, Vampire Diaries by LJ Smith, House of Night by P.C Cast and Kristin Cast. I believe that the Vampire Kisses is already a movie. Evermore and Blue Moon might be a film now too. That's what I heard. I realy love Evermore and Blue Moon a lot because I can relate to Ever. ^_^

Blue Bloods are 4 novels, Vampire Kisses is 5 and up I believe, House of Night are 5 books too, so far the books of Alyson Noel is just 2 I believe. I hope this helps.

Try this:

Evermore by Alyson Noel
Blue Moon by Alyson Noel

If you like the Dexter series, of course there novels too but you can also try Heartsick by Chelsea Cain and the sequel.

You should try books that Gillian loves: Books that made a difference in her life

The Known World by Edward P. Jones
Mountains of Minds by Robert Macfarlane
The Speed of Light by Elizabeth Rosner
When things fall apart by By Pema Chödrön
Bel Canto by Ann Patchett

I just remembered reading this article from Oprah's magazine when I saw this question again.
If you want to know what she thinks of those books, you can find it here.

In the magazine, there were 5 books but the article only contains for books. I added the last one because I wrote them in a paper.

I'd actually like to know if Doggett has become more open minded over the course of the years. He seemed to be heading in that direction. Also, if the X-Files office is still open, is there more credibility to it. That is to say, less agents (ie. S…
