February 23rd...is it sad that this date is as familiar to me as my own birthday?

Quite a few years ago, my mother laughed at my Feb. 23rd celebratory antics but I informed her that it was just one more day in a year that birthday cake was a perfectly acceptable substitute for a meal.

So I am curious, what do you guys do for Scully day?

And what do you think Mulder did for all those Feb 23rds between 1994 and 2010, both seen and unseen on television? (gifts people, tangible gifts not including the bedroom...jessa...are you paying attention to the disclaimer? :) )

I'd say Mulder got Scully this: http://www.thinkgeek.com/homeoffice/mugs/b3b9/
Maybe....just the one day on her birthday... Mulder doesn't hang up on her without explanation. Or decides not to disappear suddenly, causing her to worry her heart out. Just the one day every year =P
I love this :)

Why since 1994? They met on the 6th of March (one more special date for us, btw)), 1992.
If I remember correctly, a bit later, when Scully became “Mrs. Spooky”, and any corporate parties were out of the question, M & S had an agreement not to give presents to each other, irrespective of an occasion, which they broke in How the Ghosts Stole Christmas. I guess, anyway, back then, Scully celebrated her birthdays with her family, mostly. I think, Mulder was also invited every time, even by Margaret, but, eventually, every time he found an excuse not to show up at those parties: he just didn’t want to make anyone feel uncomfortable, including himself, bring about bad blood – his pangs of remorse along with Bill’s enmity towards him, at best, would have really made the atmosphere tense. And Scully understood his reasons, and so she didn’t insist on his coming; she knew he knew she had chosen that life with all that it implied and never blamed him for anything. They would talk on phone when a party was over and she was in bed. Sometimes she would be the first one to call.
In later seasons (beginning with the 4th, may be) they would have an afterparty or preparty)) -- it depends – she could go to San Diego or invite her family to her place when she would have days off, not right on that very day, but someone but Mulder would have to stay overnight anyway. And Mulder would miss Scully, would stay overnight at his office, whittle his yellow pencils topped with pink rubbers and throw them into the ceiling; or would knock around desolate dark corridors of the Hoover Building, spooking scrubwomen; or, if he’s lucky enough, would engage himself with some work (telling papers and sunflower seeds), or would go to Alaska, Japan or to the past to search for the truth and Scully with the lone gunmen would have to comb the planet and entire out there to find him after all; or, if Scully is lucky enough, he would just drive home and order something not homemade and watch Discovery Channel or would channel-surf searching for some adult stuff, or would lie on his leather couch in his leather jacket and nikes thinking something spooky over or dreaming of Scully, his Truth). But anyway he would be happy for her that she had a family, a good family.
And when they had a party of their own, Mulder would bring wine and roses, and Scully would cook something homey – healthy and delicious; would wear smth less formal and more low necked (and Mulder would wear a grey t-shirt and blue jeans, and boxers, of course). They would have a heart-to heart talk, using both verbal and non-verbal means, but as an aperitif they would discuss some case, of course. And Mulder would enjoy his homey Scully to the full. May be, as a background there would be some quiet music, or TV glowing, or some old movie on a videocassette recorder and candlelight. Mulder would drive Scully mad by his silly jokes and innuendos, and she would pretend that he drives her mad by that. Eventually, Scully would get comfortable enough and would become herself. They would feast their eyes with each other when they think the other one is unaware of that. May be they would dance. And in later seasons (after All Things, may be) [cut] . They may go to Mulder’s as well, but I wouldn’t recommend it – only if after Dreamland. And sometimes Scully’s birthday would find them in some field-trip.
And yesterday Mulder got up earlier, quietly got out of bed (‘cause Scully has a very light sleep, although she works hard and a lot) and went to buy Scully flowers, made fresh awakening herbal tea for them. Then he went back to their bedroom, quickly got undressed (just carelessly threw everything on an armchair, but then he corrected himself and carefully put it into the wardrobe, even his socks). He unset Scully’s alarm and woke her up by himself instead -- a few minutes later after it had had to buzz (because he likes watching her sleeping and because he didn’t have the heart to wake her up). [cut] In the evening he picked Scully from Our Lady of Sorrows Hospital and they went to a quiet restaurant they both like. […] They took a shower together (Mulder was about to have a bath, but Scully supports green campaigns and so Mulder too). Не had a little surprise for her. It turned out that not that little, in fact. She called him “scratchy beard” [cut]
In our country Feb.23d is an official holiday – and yesterday when we had a party nobody was unaware that I had a double celebration)
I always celebrate Gillian’s birthday, as I can. Last time on the 9th of August we were in Turkey. When my husband fell asleep, and the hotel got quiet, I went out on the balcony and spent there all night till very sunrise. I was sitting at a round table, composing a poem wish for Gillian with the light of a candle and stars, watching and listening to the sea, having red wine. When I was through with my wish I read it three times so as it would come true. Since childhood I have a tradition, which is like a habit now, when there’s an opportunity to make a wish (i.e.: a holiday) I make a wish for her. And then in the middle of the night… a Turk went out on his balcony to have a smoke. He was a bit surprised to see what he saw (and I wore nightwear, btw), and he said after a pause: “Hi… What are you doing?” And I’m like: “I’m… having a birthday party!”
Eh. It's walk like John Wayne all the way.

It was such a special day to me and also because it's Scully's birthday. I just want to greet Scully happy birthday even though it's late.
Wow, you're amazing! I'm sure your husband is amused. I have to admit that I celebrate their birthdays too. But your doing is more special, ^_^

There's ALWAYS room for late Scully birthday celebrations :P
