I really don't know hey... I have thought about this plenty of times, and I just think it would be a bit weird... What do you think?

I don't know either... It's just because i watched the season 5 episode "Chinga" and in that episode Mulder asks Scully to marry him, but i don't know if he meant it, I think he said it because she was so smart... And then I thought about if he meant it or not... I don't think he is serious in that episode, but I think that Mulder would be more open to the possibility of marriage than Scully... But I can't really imagine them being married although i think Mulder wants to... But who knows? Maybe in TXF3 they are married! ;o)

not sure. But aren't they going to have a common law marriage by this year? Isn't it like a 7 years living together deal? Dunno but overall--I think by choice they already feel married to each other.

I'm a bit of a romantic so I would like to think that he does want to marry her. I've never seen Mulder as a traditionalist before but that may be down to the fact that his passion for his quest has prevented him from wanting that from life. Funnily though, I've always believed that Scully would be the type to settle down really well into married life, yet in IWTB she was quick to correct Father Joe on her marital status to Mulder. Perhaps she was just annoyed at him after their tiff at the hospital?

I don't think it would be weird to see them married - it would be a natural progression. After all, they had William together and are now more of a 'couple' than we've ever seen. I for one would like to see a nice big rock on Scully's finger at the end of XF3 and leave thinking nice thoughts about the two of them growing old together sitting on a porch reflecting on their journeys. Did I mention that I was a hopeless romantic and a sucker for happy endings? :)

That's what I figure as well :). And I remember reading an interview awhile back where the interviewer asked Gillian about it... and she said that they wouldn't get married (Mulder and Scully)... that who needs a silly ring anyway :P.
It's just that -- a ring. As much as I'd like it to happen -- it wouldn't really fit them... they're rather unconventional as is... and marriage in itself is a rather conventional thing.

Mmmm....this question puts me in a predicament.

The pointless romantic in me would like to see them married. Come on, a love so strong and unique should be acknowledged by society´s law. BUT at the same time I understand it would be a little too "normal" for our duo.

I am almost sure they won´t appear as a married couple in XF3 -because there will be XF3, RIGHT?- and I can deal with that. Either way, their relationship will always be incredibly solid and intense in my mind.

Well Scully's the Catholic one so you'd think she'd insist on it. Living together in sin and all. But she was quick to correct Fr Joe when he mentioned it. Sounded a bit resentful there. There was definately more to that scene than a quick mention.... Perhaps Mulder did propose to her, and she didn't want to accept, not because there was no love, but because the relationship had matured past that and no ceremony is required to officiate it further. In her eyes they already belong to each others and nothing more needs to be done.

I think Mulder brought her to the dark side and maybe Scully brought him to the light, and somehow they've met in the middle.

Really well said Adrianne! :o)

Who knows what CC and co have planned for XF3 (when it happens) you never know what happened beyond that little easter egg row boat scene.

In my mind, they've been together so long, I don't really think it would be their thing to get married. They love each other, they are secure in their relationship (take that Agent Whitney) I'm kinda torn as well. My shipper heart always wanted them to get married and ride off into the sunset together.... but then again... I don't know what that would do to the storyline. ::shrugs::

Am keen to see what more people think.....

My mom says that she thinks they married in secret... But nobody must know. That's why she said: 'He's not my husband' to Father Joe, because she doesn't want him to know... I think this is the best theory i've heard so far!!! It's EXCELLENT!!! How come i didn't think of that?? ;o)

I'm romantic too, like someone said early here, but... sincerely I think they don't need to be married. They love each other. They don't need other.

HAHAHAHA! i **died** when i read this. It sooooo has you written all over it, Krystal.

But I agree, why get married. Then there would be no "Mulder and Scully." It would be Mulder and Mulder. Or Mulder and Scully-Mulder. Or they could just change their last names to Petrie. :)

I just got Betty tattooed on my right forearm two days ago. The guy who did it is an X-Files fan, Dylan Tate, and he was stoked about doing in for me. Betty hasn't started to talk to me yet, but I'm still waiting...
