Big Light

Frank had this amazing idea a while back, to provide video interviews with folks who have worked with him on his previous projects, from talent to those behind the scenes. So we're on a quest to compile as many interviews as we can with some of these very talented folks, and will be rolling them out in the months to come, both here on the social network and on the corresponding project page over on BigLight.com. If there's any X-Files/Millennium/Harsh Realm/Lone Gunmen/Night Stalker alum you'd like to see featured, just let us know and we'll see what we can do.

First up is Mark Freeborn, production designer on many of Frank's past projects. Mark talks to us about the challenges on designing for I Want To Believe. Enjoy!

Great job on the interview Dame Alison.

Hope you're well in TN. Is there anything we can do to help out?
So my request are probably very stupid because
a) we have just seen ROB at the charity event
b) Maybe it's supposed to be everyone BUT Chris.

buuuut
you know since I was 13 Chris Carter was this uber-guru for me. One of the people I was glad to know that they were somewhere on the other side of the planet. Maybe under Californian sunshine. But since that health issue after IWTB I always start worrying if there is too long no sign of life. Haha. it's true. So even though I guess he couldn't probably talk about his work, it would be lovely to hear from our Godfather :D *sigh* <3.

Yes-and Rob. I still vote for XFN maybe getting him for a podcast, but yeah. He is sooo- I don't even have words for it. Loved to hear him talk at the charity event!
Just like Vince last week, Michell MacLaren talks about her first few weeks working on The X-Files.

Awesome Alison - thanks!

Can I request Harry Bring next?
I will get that message to Frank and see if we can't get Harry on camera.

Thanks Alison. And if you want a challenge, try and get the elusive Darin Morgan to spare a few minutes.
Had a chat with Frank today, and we want to know who you guys would like to see us feature and what you'd like to ask them. The camera is off to another cluster of people working on another show, but when those guys are done, who would you like to see next? And what would you want to ask them?
One more person to reveal in the first round of videos I have to share, Tom Schnauz. Have more video to share from VInce, Michelle, and Tom in the days to come, and the camera is off for another round! And again, we'd love to hear suggestions on people you'd like to see and questions you'd like to ask.

How about Thomas J Wright?
I don't know if he worked on the show in season 9, but
heeeeeee directed 3 of the most amazing looking episodes in season 7 ( Millenium, Goldberg Variation, Amazing Maleeni). He is like THE Thomas Wright. So gifted!
I know that he also made fantastic looking MILLENNIUM episodes. So maybe he could talk about his experiences working on *that* show.

John Shiban ?
He could maybe talk about co-working with all the other writers on The X-Files?

About the process of developing stories together.
Because I always imagine a sort of container-like,white room with all of them (Vince, Frank,John) around a huge table.
You know- no special place -just creative minds working together in this beautiful way.
Fiiguring out all the details together.
If that depended a lot on the trust between the writers? Because obviously between them it must have been ok to say "oh no, we can't do that. This won't fit with last season." etc. .
I remember Frank saying that for him *deadlines* always helped to come up with ideas.
Or maybe memories of when it was difficult to get it all ready in time.

Maybe if after writing on so many episodes of the series, he still has moments where something randomly makes him think of the characters Mulder/Scully. And if he was happy to see them back in IWTB.

for both it would of course be nice to hear just a few words about what they are up to in the moment :).

edit: I'd still love to hear one or 2 favourite books of Rob Bowman when he was around 30. Or just books/novels that he feels strongly about. Because I'd jump at the opportunity to sit back and read something I know he likes/liked.
But maybe there will be a different occasion /interview to find out about that.
oh, and Marty McInally maybe.
What he's up to at the moment and how it felt to make IWTB.
can't think of a better question right now. But I saw his name in early seasons lately. Soo
Why is The X-Files still so successful? Vince Gilligan weighs in.

Glen Morgan, James Wong, Rob Bowman, R.W. Goodwin would be good for behind-the-scenes crew.

Any of the actors would be great to feature as well. Nick Lea, William B. Davis, and any other syndicate members would be great. Also, Mitch Pileggi would be great too.
