There was quite a bit of Native American involvement in the mythology so you could be right about this. How do Scully, Mulder and Skinner correspond to those characters and why twins?

Changing Woman in the mythology of the Navajo had hero twins who saved humanity from "GREY MOnSTERS"
During the show in per manum Scully was 100% certain that she was not looking at her ultra sound. I have four boys
the only way to know whose ultra sound I'm looking at is to look at the date. Scully was looking at a single fetus, and KNEW
it wasn't hers. Also she had a partial abruption in Empedocles. This happens frequently when carrying multiplies.
Changing woman in the navajo mythology is immortal, as is Scully.(Clyde Bruckmans Final repose)
Now before I start on the where was mulder after she had William line.
In the navajo mythology The first twin is hidden away from the grey monsters because they knew the"Monster Slayer"
would bring about their destruction.The second twin stayed with Changing woman so he would know her heart.
Then Sun Father goes into hiding, Changing Woman later sends the second twin "Born for Water/ Born of Water"
to join his twin for safety. (This theme can be seen from Existence, Nothing important happened today 1&2, and The truth.)
Sun Father and Changing Woman reunite, and rarely speak of the children, occasional mention of the second twin is refered to
on how Changing Woman misses him. (I want to believe).
In the mythology Changing Woman tells sun father you travel across the heavens while I must remain fixed in one place.
This describes Mulder and Scully.(All Things)
also I beleive the first twin was female.. not male.
Only because of Reyes statement the child is born.
This leads to where was mulder after scully delivered.
Hiding the first twin from the consortium, and the aliens.
Changing Woman changes time and time again but never dies.
The sacred name of Sun father is that of the kit FoX.
Coyote, both helps and hinders Changing woman and sun father in their quest to rid the world of grey monsters.thats just my thoughts

Hey, thanks for the information. There really are a lot of parallels with X files mythology. I'd really like to think Mulder was away in season nine finding a safe hiding place for his child, or children rather than just running away and hiding to keep himself safe. Hope it turns out that you're right about this.

well I have read some interviews from both Gillian and David about x F3 possibilities

David Duchovny Wants Another X-Files Film By 2012
Fox Mulder is ready for the coming apocalypse in 2012 — in fact he's so excited, he thinks the occasion deserves another X-Files movies. But really, we need another X-Files to banish the stink of the last one.

In an interview with MTV David Duchovny said he was completely open to a new X-Files movie, in fact he thinks the possible Mayan apocalypse in 2012 almost demands it.

"As far as the X-Files movie I'd like to do next, if we get a chance to do it, would be a return to the heart and soul of the mythology, which is the alien-oriented conspiracy," Duchovny said. "I think it's natural for 'The X-Files' to have another movie in 2012, so we'll see if we get to do it."

I'm all for this — we need to end the series on a preferable alien note. Because I still believe that the truth is out there.

IESB Exclusive: Fox Chairman Tom Rothman

ESB: X-Files, truthfully, I'm a huge X-Files fan, I was a bit disappointed with the new film. It didn't feel like an X-Files movie, but I hope to god, I know there's an idea that Chris [Carter] had about the 2012 mythology of the X-Files, the alien colonization, any chance we'll see X-Files 3?

TR: It's really up to Chris, David [Duchovny] and Gillian [Anderson].

IESB: The second one wasn't an expensive film.

TR: No, but it wasn't a matter of the money, that was the film that Chris wanted to do. He was determined to do a stand alone film, a film that wasn't dependent upon the mythology. His interest in making the movie, was in the characters and in their relationship, not the mythology.

First of all: the story really sounds perfectly fitting to XF *g* BUT I can´t imagine this story used in an XF movie. I mean... wouldn´t they have mentioned it? Having another child? Wouldn´t the two break by the fact to have lost 2 childs? One in the Alien-hands, one in another family (and Scully also having lost Emily?) Could Chris have given the two of them so much suffering? As Mulder still has to fight with the idea that his parents had to chose which child to give away... would he have done the same??

Umm, I loved the second movie, it was a new kind of cross over between so many genres. We had the very romantic touch, we had much commedy aspects, which, with a dark thriller, was not easy to get used to for many of the audience. It was really for fans, I think. The story itsself was a good one, but not a GREAT one - it was the wonderful fact, how Mulder and Scully reacted, an none except the philes could really appreciate this.
So the next movie shouldn´t deal with the relationship, as this is not what the average audience expects from XF and wants to see. Its 2012. Though it shouldn´t be a Mulder does his way, Scully hers - story, this would be too hard, I think ;) But ... they have to face the colonization and fight toghether against it in their old own ways. And together .... hopefully *g* manage in the end to save our world ;)
But me, too, is asking what could come after that? When the story about the colonization is told, maybe there is some way to "delay" it maybe... should the next one be about how they have to fight against it, again??? No... there would just be the chance to make a MOTW movie.

Well, I have to say the resemblance with XF is impressive, but still not convincing me that Scully had twins. When I remember correctly, the reason she thought it wasn't her unltrasound in "Per Manum" was because she found a video cassette in the player with an ultrasound on it and thought that this was shown to her instead of her own ultrasound.
As far as I know, carrying multiplies does not increase the risk of partial abruption of the placenta but a lot of other facts do like high maternal age (which would be older than 35 years) for example, so I wouldn't count that as a hint to twins.

But it is interesting that especially the Navajo mythology has that much in common with XF knowing that the Navajo culture has been a part of XF mythology itself.
