X-Philanthropy for Alinyiikira School
Hello everyone,
...what a wonderful year 2009 was, especially when we look around and see what marvellous charity actions there have been.
XPhiles are the best ;)
And we can be proud to say WE ARE PHILE !
Well well, there still is a lot ongoing concerning donations for different causes.
Last year we collected also for the Alinyiikira school, we sent a package with sweets, things for handicraft, stuff the small kids and the ones that live at the school could use. The rest of the money we did transfer.

This year the Xmas donation is going to Buskaid, but beside that we asked around in our circle of friends and collected a small amount of money, for Alinyiikira, too.
So THIS YEAR we only want to send a package for the kids, with some things they can´t buy over there, some things that just will sweeten their school start. Because the expense to SEND such a package are pretty high, we found a way that all the money we collect can really pour into the gift for the pupils and not into any postoffice.
Maya was in Uganda and know some people, and one friend is visiting Uganda again. She would take the package with her and give it to Godfrey, the headmaster of Alinyiikira.
So we can be sure it arrives and we don´t have to waste money for postal service. Last year Godfrey told us the kids were really overjoyed and he is joyful, too, that this year we think of Alinyiikira at Xmas again.
We are glad that this year our gift could be a little bigger than the last ones, we will write a few lines, tinker a little Xmas card, and wait until the package arrives in Uganda and Godfrey gives the little gift to the kids. Last time Godfrey made such wonderful pictures of the joyful faces of the kids, so we are really looking forward to this time, too.
So, who maybe wants to join the annual Xmas gift for the Alinyiikira pupils, could send a mail to xfmforgillian@ymail.com and ask for more informations.
We take any cent - it REALLY doesn´t have to be a big amount, who has a Dollar or Euro left, could invest it into the pupil-survive-package *g*
Mostly we want to buy something for the pupils that live there almost the whole year, they have so little and are glad about everything. Of course there also will be things for all pupils, again like toys, books and sweets.
Maybe someone has some english books for children, that he/she wants to send, this is also a good idea.
In January we will see how much money we could raise and buy all the things for the package then, after everyone can tell us their ideas, what should be in the package this year. Maya will hand over the package to her friend then, who flies to Uganda in early February.
As school starts again in mid-February, this is the time when the children will be looking forward to their late Xmas gift - it´s the same every year, because for Xmas itsself the kids - of course - are with their families.

Well well, I met Godfrey, the headmaster of the Alinyiikira school. A few philes bought some stuff for the pupils - like writing stuff, crafting things, handbags and bracelets for the girls *g*, some books and so on. So we had a little package I could give him, which he will take to Uganda and bring it as a little School-Starter-gift for the pupils, as their school just started last week =)
We, too, did collect a small amount of money, right now we got 150 Euro, of course we like to make the 200 ;) So STILL going on:
The latest donations will be used for the new buildings. Godfrey explained: they are building houses, where the teachers can live, so that they don´t have to travel each day. You know, the infrastructure is really bad and some of the teachers live not so very near, that sometimes the teachers just can´t come to school. And as the school only has SIX teachers... you know what I mean.
So money goes to the teachers rooms and another house, which will be for pupils or if there once will be an exchanging programm (I am in contact to make a deal with an agency which offers social projects like the voluntary social year in Germany; and I try to get MY school connected somehow to Alinyiikira as a partnership)
...So, if someone of you maybe once will go to Uganda and help out there as a teacher... you also would have a bed there *g*
That´s what the money would be for.
So ... maybe we still collect some?
And the second package (we had planned to sent two, one for the older pupils, the next for the primarys) is planned still, so ... we´d be glad for philes-help-together =)

Hi everyone – as we mentioned before, we collected again for Alyniikira Jr. School.
We already collected 200 Euro for a donation * yay*
And as Fee met Godfrey last month, she gave him a little package for the pupils of the school...
