Pinoy X-Philes is a Filipino fan group of The X-Files initially comprising four small clubs that eventually merged into one big group in 2003.

The first club was founded by Lily and had its beginnings in 1998 when several Filipinos first virtually met on the forum of the official X-Files website. Not long after, Filipino fans from other forums joined the group. Meetups and DVD marathons were organized with each
member sharing their experiences and love for the show.

Eventually the group met three other Philippine-based clubs which later led to the merging of the four groups. Subsequently, the merged group was renamed the Pinoy X-Philes.

So sorry....

The whole month of April, my calendar was jam packed by family gatherings and work make up days. As well as my representatives were very busy with their own real life work and activities. We were sad that we can't participated with the Big Light Project, but really we are PROUD to be a member of this wonderful network.

Pinoy X-Philes Honors Beloved X-Files Director in Marathon

The Pinoy X-Philes held another episode marathon last March 7, 2009. Held at a private house in Malate, the long-awaited marathon was deemed special as the group paid tribute to X-Files director/producer Kim Manners who recently passed away. Kim Manners directed and/or produced a great number of well-loved episodes throughout the seasons of The X-Files. As such, selected episodes directed by him were chosen by the group for screening at the marathon.

XFN Worldwide Fan Project - a huge success

Since last Friday, Weena reminded me about the release of the project on 11-25 and yes I indeed watched out for it. I have this mix emotions that time. I was really excited!!! I was talking to Weena yesterday and describing to her what I saw in the video since she can't access the video from her work that time due to firewall.

A long silence has broken

Hello fellow Big Lighters!

On May 19, 2009, Big Light's social network turns one year old. Please up us celebrate the 1st anniversary by joining us in a party.

Since we are a worldwide fandom, and taking a cue from the XFN project, this will be an international project.

Using the creative talents of Anelisse, Gomnitus, and Yellowbee, please submit a video (or photos) telling Uncle Frank of the positive experiences you've had here with folks on Biglight. These can be Phile events you have been part of, finding other Philes in your area, or thanking him for creating this site. Entries can be solo or with a group; in your native language or English.

We are anticipating a HUGE turnout, so please read and follow the submission guidelines below.

Guidelines:

- videos must be a maximum of 20 seconds
- no .MOV files
- if you have photos posted on your BL page and wish them to be used, please let us know via email

The deadline for submission is APRIL 30, 2009.
