You know--though the locations themselves are a nostalgic reminder of the show, my 'best' memories are the times I shared the experience with other Philes. While I loved all three that you mention, Raskolnikov, they stand out more so due to the shar…

Well, it's almost here. Two years ago I put my application in to be a volunteer for the Olympics. I thought my skills as a driver might come in handy, so I've always held onto my class 2 (with air even) which means I can drive vehicles such as a sch…

thanks for the pictures, Alison. As always, you rock! I loved hearing the XF theme as well, Kate. But when they cut to the Bones intro, it was a little sad. I wanted to close my eyes and pretend we were viewing XF -- hmm, what would it be now? 16x5?

Olympic Fever

Well, it's almost here.

Two years ago I put my application in to be a volunteer for the Olympics. I thought my skills as a driver might come in handy, so I've always held onto my class 2 (with air even) which means I can drive vehicles such as a school bus.

Yes, in my prior life I drove a school bus. A great big yellow school bus. I loved it -- I loved the students. To make a long-two-year-story-short-- I'm driving in Whistler for the next two wee

If I close my eyes, I can see LA....

When I woke up this morning, bright and early as always - I've lost the ability to sleep past 5 am - I was brought back to this time last year.

I can recall my interrupted early morning run, which took me past the corner and the line up that had already started for IWTB.

HUH?

Okay, so I'm really quite sentimental. I wanted to go back and review my trip to LA for the IWTB premiere. Yeah, I know I have a paper due, but seriously, this is the one-year anniversary and I need this. I need to remember that it was real, not a dream.

Now, I distinctly recall finding my way down to a lovely spot on the corner, quite near where all those Hollywood stars begin, having a coffee and using a computer to update my family and friends, via my blog, on what Marcella and I were up to.… Continue

Musings of a Phile as we near the one year mark.....

How time flies!

One year ago today I was busy packing and making final preparations for my flight to LA and what would turn out to be ....... there isn't a single word for what the week turned into.....

* an amazing week
* the birthday celebration to end all celebrations
* the time of my life
* a dream come true
* a surreal moment in time in which I constantly had to pinch myself to ensure I wasn't dreaming

I met some amazing people; made new friends and got to know those I already knew, much… Continue

Hug a friend today

Or gather ye rosebuds while you may..... don't let today pass without telling someone what they mean to you.....you get the picture.

Late Monday night I got word that a friend had been killed in a plane crash. It was shocking, to say the least. I had just been speaking about her a scant twelve hours prior.

She had a beautiful smile and a laugh that reminded me of wind chimes. She was a brilliant nurse who spent time working in the Arctic with two other critical care nurses. They flew in and ou… Continue

i yearn for the times when it is hot enough here to sit outside until the wee hours of the night -- it reminds me muchly (yes, I do realize i am bastardizing the english language) of my youth in Ontar-iar-io and hot summer nights walking, drunken steps, back home from the King Eddie - all young and hopeful, full of dreams with my life stretched out before me - endless..........oh no.....maudin alert.......drunken maudlin alert........battle stations
