Nine years later I still find it funny, looking back on it anyway, that my very first X Files experience was with "Requiem" of all things. Never having seen an episode in my life, I'm amazed that an episode of that nature was able to grab me, but it did. As I became more engrossed in the show, I realized what a special experience it all was and how much I truly enjoyed having the show as a small part of my life. I've made lifelong friends, learned more than I ever could've imagined, and now have become a small part of the X Files family. Six years ago when I was sitting in my apartment in New York City watching the television fade out on Mulder and Scully, I never would've imagined that we'd be in this position, blessed enough to get one more glimpse into the life of two of the greatest TV characters in history. But here we are!
It has been an absolute pleasure being a part of the Big Light world over the last few months, getting to know all of you and sharing in your enthusiasm over such a unique and wonderful experience that we all shared in some way over the last 15 years. Your joy and sheer exuberance has been an inspiring thing to watch, and I am constantly in awe of your ideas and passionate devotion. Thank you for letting me be a part of that, and I look forward to continuing on in the future.
When you go to the theaters around the world in the next week or so, just remember to sit back and enjoy the ride. And remember that thousands of people all over the globe are right there with you. Here’s to The X Files: William Saves 2012!
