The Pinoy X-Philes held another episode marathon last March 7, 2009. Held at a private house in Malate, the long-awaited marathon was deemed special as the group paid tribute to X-Files director/producer Kim Manners who recently passed away. Kim Manners directed and/or produced a great number of well-loved episodes throughout the seasons of The X-Files. As such, selected episodes directed by him were chosen by the group for screening at the marathon.
And for the first time in Pinoy X-Philes history, the group opted to decorate the venue with X-Files memorabilia as well as make use of a projector and white screen for viewing instead of using the usual large-screen TV. A few members of Arkham Philippines
and other interested non-members were also invited to join the marathon.
The tribute marathon started at about 7:30 PM and lasted until the early hours of the next morning. It was a fun and memorable night as the members and invited guests watched episode favorites such as “Folie á Deux,” “Home,” “Humbug,” “Milagro,” “Chinga,” and “The Rain King.” As per request by some of the guests, the Pilot episode was also screened as an introduction to those who were not so familiar with the basic plot of the show.
